An ‘Epic’ partnership for New Zealand’s Diversional Therapists

The New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapy (NZSDRT) and Epic Sharing, a New Zealand based online instructional design company, have announced a new partnership that will provide professional development opportunities for NZSDRT members through self-paced online courses.

The partnership aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of Diversional and Recreational Therapists working with a wide range of people in the community and care facilities around New Zealand.

Epic Sharing specialises in developing accessible and professional e-learning courses that suit all levels of learners. The courses cover a range of topics and will be tailored for the NZSDRT members with an endorsement logo to help them find suitable courses. Once they have completed the course, they will receive a Certificate of Training that will count towards their NZSDRT registration.

Natasha Gunn, Co-director of Epic Sharing, said:

“We are delighted to partner with NZSDRT and offer our courses to their members. We believe that online learning is a flexible and convenient way to upskill and stay updated with the latest trends
and best practices in diversional and recreational therapy.”

“Our courses are designed by experienced Instructional Designers and we are fortunate to have our own in-house Diversional Therapist, Sue Gunn, to provide her expertise. We hope that our courses will inspire and empower NZSDRT members to improve the quality of life of the people in their care.”

Orquidea Tamayo Mortera, President of NZSDRT’s board, said:

“This is a great step for all of us, and particularly for our members to be able to access continued education to help them build their capability in New Zealand, but also education that has been developed by a DT like Susan.”

“We encourage our members to take advantage of this partnership and enrol in the courses that interest them.”
