So first meeting with the team in our workroom and coming in over video conference. It worked pretty well. I’ll share the recording when I find it!

I found it had the same challenges as it does when you have half the group in a physical meeting room with a few dialling in remotely. What was your experience like?

I agree @Nat with it feeling like the blended meetings of F2F & online.

For those blended meetings, usually F2F is the main and the online ones can feel out of the loop a bit. I was interested to see what this would be like as technically we’re all virtual / online, but interestingly enough, it felt the same – with the VR peeps being the main ones and the virtual ones being the ones dialling in.

I liked how you could see the online peeps on a screen as well as see the screen / whiteboard for sharing.

It was interesting too when @ActualKarl changed the room layout halfway through. For a full VR experience it was cool being able to turn around to the screen, but we were turning our backs on Mo & Denise for a bit, so having the ‘bridal table’ set up instead of the ‘boardroom table’ set up worked well for that.

I think the coolest thing is being able to see the shared screen and all the participants.

In a Zoom, you can see everyone, but as soon as the screen is shared, we’re all shrunken thumbnails and some ‘fall off’ the screen …

Imagine doing a VR induction and you can actually see someone roll their eyes or start looking out the window really bored!

@ActualKarl I know you’ve always dreamed of a VR induction

What I like about the most about VR meetings is the feeling of presence and being in the moment I have. On zoom meetings there are so many possible distractions. While in VR everyone’s is there and you need to engage with the group.

The first workroom meeting was great. I think it’s a neat feature to be able to see the people who aren’t in VR. I think it makes remote meetings more engaging. I’m excited to explore the rest of its capabilities.
